Fast track your communication skills at an OCPH intensive masterclass with experts in healthcare communication.
This intensive program focuses on refining core skills and conducting complex conversations with patients, families and colleagues.
Hosted by Australia’s academic centre for healthcare communication, Deakin University’s Centre for Organisational Change in Person Centred Healthcare (OCH), our residential masterclasses are held at Waurn Ponds Estate, tucked away on Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds Campus.
During the masterclass delegates will:
- Gain awareness of the evidence-based frameworks and models to support effective clinical consultations
- Develop skills to observe and deconstruct consultations by analysing patient-clinician interactions
- Table your own unique communication challenges to draw upon the expertise of interprofessional perspectives
- Refine strategies for conversations about health behaviour change, risk and shared decision-making, prognosis and end-of-life
Apply new skills by engaging in experiential learning with simulated patients - Integrate learning across the contexts of patient care, interprofessional communication, supervision and leadership
